Apparently they made a banana wagon...hmmm....I am a little disturbed though by the hair and dirt particles on it. Like it fell on the ground a couple of times before they decided to put it on wheels. Ha!
I love this purse. It's handmade but looks a little different from the typical handmade bag or purse. This is from Melly & Me, they make wonderful things and sell their patterns for around $12. I have a couple of their patterns for stuffed animals, but I have yet to find the time to sit down and try to make them. I am relatively new to patterns and I often find myself improvising and then the design doesn't look quite as I planned. PS!!! They are having a drawing for this purse on their website (the link is above in red). Just leave a comment about this design and you could possibly win this exact one!
I just bought these images off a boutique I love on etsy called Land of Enchantment. I just love the victorian/vintage images they have. I don't know yet what I will do with them, I'm thinking of using them for my Valentine cards or making a banner with them. Hmmm, we shall see.
I was browsing the many blogs on "my idea blogs" list and found this free printable valentine goodie bag at a blog I love, called how about orange. This is a design from Twig & Thistle (love this blog as well). To get this free download go here. I am in love with it. You could use it for a goodie bag or even a card.

If I ever move to London (why not?) I think I would just have to buy this shower curtain of the London Subway system. I wish they had one for Paris. If they did, I would buy one just so I could take a trip down memory lane whenever I took a bath. ;) I still remember riding the red line toward Le Defense, then hopping onto the SNCF to go home to St. Cloude, a suburb of Paris. Did I really do that on a weekly basis? What a strange life I've led. ;)

Above is a map of the Paris Train System. The red line is the line we used to take to go home from a night strolling up and down the Champs Elysees.
So a lady I know wrote a fabulous blog about the January blues and all I have to say is"ditto" to everything she said about this grey dreary month. I NEED the sun to shine soon, very soon. I too have no energy or motivation to do all my many wife/motherly chores. My husband seems concerned (promise, I'm just fine honey) it's just this season.
So I have decided to deal with it with good music and a little sarcasm...I love all of these prints from Anne Taintor. Even if you are in denial that being a house wife is hard, you can't help but laugh at one of the captions.
Listen to this song from Vampire Weekend called "Horchata".
I was listening to it on the way home from the store and I swear my surrounding changed from brown-yucky-muddy snow to dancing in some exotic location...I don't really know where, just some place happy and fun.

I have recently read two blogs of girls I know (Liz & Susan) and they both had links and talked about this event called alt. Well, I was curious so I went to the site and found an array of hip bloggers and fashion forward Utahs. I was very impressed as I browsed the various people's blogs and websites, then I got a tinge of sadness and thought, I am so not cool enough (at this time in my chaotic life) to attend such a fun exhibition. None the less it looks like a blast!
Maybe next year? I am grateful though to find some more blogs full of design ideas and projects! :)
Sometimes for no good reason at all Madeline will start to cry, I ask her what is wrong and she says that she misses her "auntsisters", I realize of course she means ancestors and tell it is okay we will see them again in Heaven. Well, this week she cried real tears for grandpa Don. Max and Madeline just adored him and it was very hard to see how sad they were to realize he was gone.
This is a picture of my Grandpa Don (my Father's dad) taken almost 3 years ago when Quentin & Christie were married. Max was 3 and Maddie was about 9 months. I loved the way grandpa treated my children. He was always so happy to see them and I could see how proud he was of his great grandchildren. He never played favorites, his love for them was sincere.
He passed away last week and I have to say it was a very peaceful funeral. I looked around at the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren he has left behind here on earth and can't help but imagine how incredibly proud he must be. As we drove away from the dedication of the grave, Madeline just kept saying over and over again, "I don't want gwanpa to be bewied, I miss him". I know he loved me, my husband and children and can only hope to live a life blessed with such a great family.
What is it about these dresses from FairyWonderful that makes me want to buy one for Madeline and just sit back and watch her twirl in a sea of tulle? I don't consider myself very froo-froo or overly girlie, but there is something so indulgent about these dresses and if you can't wear yards of tulle when you are little when can you (and not look crazy)?! Who knows, but I secretly LOVE them!

These yummy candles on etsy look good enough to eat, I mean really...how are people so creative? I love this idea for V-day and just may be sending some out to the gals in my family.
Max is a big guy, 4' 4" tall and around a 100 pounds. Well, I feared that (ironically enough) he would be bullied in school, and somehow I knew in my mind that it would be by the smallest kid in his class...
Today it happened. He came home with a bloody nose saying that ____ (will remain nameless) punched him in the nose today and he had to go to the office for his bloody nose. His nose was still bleeding a little when he came home so it must have been a pretty good hit smack dab in the face. This certain kid I know and is by far the shortest, skinniest kid in class.
I seriously feel sorry for the kid that Max ever hits back and he has my FULL permission to hit back, but never throw the first punch. Why can't I just keep my kids in a bubble?
This last Saturday my brother, Quentin and my dad came and helped us put up the bead board. It looks beautiful. Now I just have to paint the bead board and retouch some of the green and then we are done and I can't wait to see the finished product...I will post a pic.
