I was in Marshall's the other day and saw a deep grey t-shirt with a silver beaded peter-pan collar and thought it was darling. Ever since then I have fallen in love with these shirts and t-shirts.

I have seen the collars made with beads, glitter, cloth and lace. So fun.

I love every shirt above, I especially love the striped shirts and the delicate collars.

5 years ago I would have had the time, energy and motivation to make my own shirt. For now, I will just admire the ambition and the stylishness of others. ;)

T.D.F. Anthropologie jacket

For those of you who may not know me here is a little history behind my love of fashion and the impeccable and iconic fashion magazines VOGUE and ELLE.

During my Jr. High and HS years I was grounded a lot. I wasn't a bad kid at all. I was stubborn, quick witted and rarely backed down from an argument with my parents. Sometimes my dad would just stare at me and say "you'd make a good lawyer"...that was of course after he grounded me for 3 weeks for "talking back". Needless to say I spent many an afternoon grounded in my bedroom, and while I sat in my room doing anything but homework I would pour over my fashion magazines and daydream of the day I would become a designer, photographer or model (at 5'2" I knew that was just a dream).

When my mom would take us to the library I would often get large books on Fashion Designers like Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace etc.... I even began drawing my designs in a book. I had fabric swabs, and colors and textures all laid out. (What I wouldn't give to still have that book).

So you can imagine my nostalgia and pleasant surprise when I saw my daughter gazing in awe at the newest Louis Vuitton spread in this months VOGUE. You have to admit any little girl would fall in love with these doll like pictures and pastel colors.

I am and always have been a firm believer that when it comes to swim wear less is not always more. Putting it all out there all the time is boring, irregardless of how fab you look. When I was at the pool with the kids, the classiest most attractive women were in tankinis or one pieces.

Now I am not, by any means bagging on the bikini, I just think it's fun to 'mix it up' from time to time. And here are some great ways to do it!

Shabby Apple brings a little 'old Hollywood' to their suits this year. Love it!

Hapari is a new site I found and love it, the one piece above has a cut out back that makes it feel and look much less 'mom' like.

Yes, even Vicki's Secret has some fab tankinis and one pieces although they make them look very va-va-voom in the pictures! ;) I often stand with my hands in the air, puckering my lips when I swim...doesn't everyone?

Gorsuch Jackets, T.D.F. = to die for. These jackets are simply amazing. What I wouldn't give (aside from my home, children, husband and basic freedoms) to own one of these.

The greens, blues and purples look perfect together in the above outfit, which would run you at least $4,000. The jacket itself is $1,298.

Gorsuch is one of my most favorite clothing catalogs I get in the mail. I cannot afford one thing in it (maybe a pair of socks for $30) but I still can't help falling in love with it's simplicity and absolute class. This is what I imagine "old money" wearing. ;)

The above shirt is a mere $388. But I love the clean lines, light fabric and big button accents.

So I dressed the kiddos in their picture taking garb- NOT perfectly coordinated of course...because now I know that having your kids be matchy-matchy is soooo Passé .

Anyhow, Mimi didn't have anything to put in her hair. My friend down the street makes these darling headbands, but I only had 15 minutes and thought I'd try to make my own at the last minute.

I already had this headband from years ago. I made the yo-yo flowers and fabric covered buttons, sewed the button to the flower and hot glued it to the headband. As Max would say it was "easy-peasy lemon squeazy" (I think he learned that from Noah) ;)
