If you are like me, you probably went through some phase in your life where you detested the color pink, mostly because of its cultural attachment to "girliness". Well, I have been there too but ever since I have had a little girl I adore the color pink and embrace it in its entirety - girly feminism and all. :)

Here is Mimi's pink party. I had so much fun thinking about what to do for it, now doing it was a whole other story. I told my mother in law that this was about 1/16th of what I wanted to do, but I was pleased with the end result. Our place has wonderful tall ceilings and great arch ways so it didn't look too crowded in the small space.

I'm not too good at the artsy fartsy photography yet, but here is a picture of my party favors. They are handmade felt flower clips and pins. They were actually quite easy to make and turned out to be adorable. I will try and take a better picture of one of Mimi's for a future "how-to" blog.

To the left there are pink crowns waiting to be decorated by the kids with jewels, sparkle puffy paint and sparkly poms poms. One of the boys that came to the party, Braden made the sparkliest prettiest crown there. Way to be in touch with your feminine side Braden!

This is her pink polka dot cake and pink cupcakes...the cupcakes are lemon with a yummy lemon curd filling. The cake was the same...mmmm...

Martha Stewart pom-poms hanging from the ceiling in all shades of pink...thank you Martha!

It was a fun fun day. We had friends and family there, Max was a good helper when it came to opening presents...Madeline received a ton of presents, some of which I am tempted to hide and bring out later so she appreciates them, right now she is on overload and doesn't realize how many new things she has. Wish my sis could be there, but one day she will be. Happy Birthday Mimi!
