I never get tired of seeing how people take old chairs with good "bones" and reupholster them. Here are a couple of the most recent transformations found on Design Sponge.
I love Design Sponge and I forgot how much I loved the before & after section until this last weekend when we had our friend Quintin and his family over for dessert. He wants to find an old Dutch style couch to reupholster, so we looked at some of design sponge's amazing before & after pictures.
I especially love this before & after from Lauren & Nick because I have about 4 old chairs from when we lived in France. They are from the Paris flee market and in not so great a'shape. In fact they look very similar to the before picture above. I don't want to paint them because I want to stay true to the French style, and painting furniture is more Swedish...anyhow, this is a great way to give old chairs a new, fresh look without changing their integrity. 
I think it would be so fun to mix these bright colored pillows from Horchow with the traditional chairs below.
These chairs do have a little frill to them, but that's one of the things I love about them.
Henry has a bad cold and I feel horrible for the poor little guy...as soon as he gets better he gets sick again. Maybe it's allergies, who knows. So I need a little somethin' to brighten my day...hence the bright pillows. Wish bright flowery pillows could brighten his day as well. :(
Here are my chairs!!! Thank you mom! I just love them, they are so sturdy and this morning the kids had jellied doughnuts and chocolate milk on this table and guess what? It wiped clean, no hassle at all...I want to plant a big wet kiss on whoever invented shellac.
It's coming together, slow and steady. (ignore the mess in the corner) :) 
This is a random post, but I love this chair from Target....yes, Target! Who knew Target had such cute furniture? I didn't have any idea until I went to my friend Ingrid's house and saw the cutest chair in her living room and she said it was from Target. Ever since that day I go online occasionally to look at their new designs. Here is one of my favorites. I love that you can pull from one of the colors or use them all in a room.
My mom had these chairs and table at her house and for a couple of Summers now we have wanted to make chair covers for them so we decided that this Memorial Day would be the perfect opportunity to make them.
My dad and Steve measured and cut the wood to fit in the chair. We then bought thick batting and outdoor fabric to cover the wood.
We pulled the material around the batting and wood and stapled to the back.
And voila! We kept the chairs old and rusted looking for a vintage feel.
